What’s Required?

For vocals the only thing you really need to bring to a lesson is you and your desire to sing! However a bottle of water to keep your throat from going dry and data stick for backing tracks is helpful. A book is generally is not required however depending your desired style and direction your instructor will advise you on what material to work from. The instructor will teach you how to use the different parts of your body such as lungs, diaphragm, throat and mouth to create and control your voice. There is a lot more to know than you may think and only a qualified instructor can help you achieve true vocal ability.

Lessons

With vocal instruction you will also learn how to sing with a microphone and how to use some of the associated sound equipment. You can choose your own songs to learn as you progress, however your instructor will advise you on what pieces to choose for your level of ability as well as the areas you need to develop. The biggest hurdle vocal students face is being heard by others. Often people are shy about being heard. Our instructors are very kind and empathetic people who will gently encourage and help you to overcome any shyness. Learning to sing is a remarkable tool to help people develop self confidence and over the years we have seen the positive and amazing results first hand!
